In 2006, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order was introduced in England and Wales, as a replacement to the now obsolete 'Fire Safety Certificate', which was previously issued by the Local Authority Fire & Rescue Services. Since its introduction we've been asked numerous questions by confused and often concerned business owners, unsure whether it applied to them, and what they needed to do if it did. So, we've put together a list of frequently asked questions which you will find by clicking the button below which will hopefully answer any questions or concerns you may have. |
FSC (Nationwide) Ltd., can help remove any confusion and concerns by carrying out your Fire Risk Assessment for you. We work hard to fulfil the competency criteria and requirements for conducting fire risk assessments so you can be assured that your fire risk assessment is carried out with integrity and professionalism.
All our assessments are qualitative in design and format, following the 5 step risk assessment process as recommended by the Health and Safety Executive and the Employers’ Guide Published by the Home Office. Our risk assessments would also satisfy the recommendations of PAS 79:2020, the Publicly Available Specification – Fire Risk Assessments Guidance and a Recommended Methodology.
Using our 76-question audit process, combined with many years of fire safety experience, ensures that our clients’ premises are adequately assessed for fire risks to life, property and business continuity.
A full and detailed consultation is available following the fire risk assessments to discuss any significant findings and required actions to achieve a satisfactory standard of fire safety within the organisation.

FIVE STEP FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT
This includes the conducting of the fire risk assessment following the 5 step risk assessments process as recommended by HM Government guidance documents, HSE and the guidance documentation issued by Fire and Rescue Services:
- Identification of the Fire Hazards
- Identifying Persons at Risk
- Evaluation of the Risks (Eliminate, Reduce or Control)
- Recording of the Significant Findings
- Monitor and Review
The above steps are recorded and a risk analysis conducted to arrive at a risk rating. A comprehensive action plan is then produced with realistic time scales for completion and review, providing the client with a range of options to meet their legal obligations and ensuring the most appropriate cost effective solution.
Extensive research is then undertaken and references made to relevant Guides, Codes of Practice and British Standards. The fire risk assessment can then either be presented to the client as a Digital Copy, or as a Professionally Bound Document (additional costs may apply):
In addition to this, we can also provide a template of an Emergency Fire Plan, which can then be adapted for use within your premises should you so wish, along with a Fire Diary/Fire Safety Log book, to document any Fire Safety related checks and issues where necessary.
